Today, I want to introduce you to two brands that both offer cozy and sexy luxury loungewear that makes women feel good about themselves all day, every day!
AMATERAS JAPAN – WHERE EAST MEETS WEST
Amateras Japan was created to bridge lifestyle and fashion influencers from the east and the west, creating a brand that is truly borderless. The name AMATERAS was founded with the hope and vision that every woman wearing it can have a strong sense of identity and an unwavering sense of self that illuminates through every situation. The word Amateras comes from the Japanese mythological goddess of the Sun, who shines brighter than all others; it is their wish that you will shine this bright too.
The concept behind their nightwear is the intertwining of “ West” x “ East” and it is their goal that through fashion they will create a brand that is truly borderless. From the design all the way down to the very fabrics used, they blend Western and Japanese elements bringing you the best of both worlds in their pieces.
The founder and designer of AMATERAS, Reiko McNish Sato, was born and raised in Japan until the age of 10 before moving to Canada with her family. Reiko returned to Japan for her studies and started her first career as a model while also working in the retail industry. However, while at university, born of a strong desire to proudly embrace her cultural identity, her vision to combine modern-day fashion with traditional Japanese culture was born.
In 2018 Reiko launched AMATERAS whose name refers to the Japanese Godess of the sun, Amaterasu. Two years into business, Reiko has successfully been able to create a fashion label which highlights traditional Japanese styles, such as the Kimono, and encourages finding beauty within ones own culture.

MASONgrey
MASONgrey was started to fill a void in the world of comfort. Owner, Maxine Bascue aimed to create a Los Angeles-based brand that doesn’t make women choose between feeling comfortable and feeling sexy. Coming from a family of pattern-makers, Maxine understands the importance of details and design, which is why each collection is created in small batches to ensure the finest cut and uncompromising brand experience.
Maxine grew up with a fashion background in a family of pattern makers and attention to detail was engrained in her from a young age. That’s why everything at MASONgrey is curated in small batches for the best cut and quality, using the softest “cloud fabric”.
At MASONgrey, they celebrate timeless elegance and femininity by offering unique designs carefully tailored to the highest standard.
After a year of selling in Farmer’s Markets and PopUP shops, the brand has since made its debut in Nordstrom and on Shopbop.com, with chic cozy luxury loungewear that flatters all women regardless of their body type.
Everything is machine washable making them super low maintenance.
