Hi and Welcome back to The Code of Style Magazine, and this article about Amateras Japan, where comfort meets style and where East meets West.
Staying home has become the new normal for many of us during these uncertain times, and whilst we want to feel comfortable and cozy, we don’t want to have to sacrifice looking stylish and sexy for comfort, and it is possible to have it all!
Whilst our minds may be frazzled and worn out by the limited contact we are currently having with the outside world, our clothes don’t need to be! We can indulge our bodies in soft, luxurious loungewear that will make us both look and feel good!
But what exactly is loungewear? It includes joggers, leggings, comfy tops, hoodies, sweatshirts, shorts and other coordinates that you can mix and match however you want. They differ from pyjamas as you can also wear them outside of your house, but they’re much more comfortable than, say, jeans and a button-down shirt.
Modern loungewear is now so chic and well-tailored that you can walk out of your front door with style! And if you don’t believe me, just check the Instagram feed of celebrities, such as Victoria Beckham, Kendall Jenner, Jennifer Lopez and Alessandra Ambrosio to name just a few!
Today, I want to introduce you to the new collection from Amateras Japan that features cozy and chic loungewear that makes women feel good about themselves all day, every day, whether quarantining at home or out and about in the city!

The name AMATERAS was founded with the hope and vision that every woman wearing it can have a strong sense of identity and an unwavering sense of self that illuminates through every situation. The word Amateras comes from the Japanese mythological goddess of the Sun, who shines brighter than all others; it is their wish that you will shine this bright too.
The founder and designer of AMATERAS, Reiko McNish Sato, was born and raised in Japan until the age of 10 before moving to Canada with her family. Reiko returned to Japan for her studies and started her first career as a model while also working in the retail industry. However, while at university, born of a strong desire to proudly embrace her cultural identity, her vision to combine modern-day fashion with traditional Japanese culture was born.
In 2018 Reiko launched AMATERAS whose name refers to the Japanese Godess of the sun, Amaterasu. Two years into business, Reiko has successfully been able to create a fashion label which highlights traditional Japanese styles, such as the Kimono, and encourages finding beauty within ones own culture.
