About the brand
Born out of the desire to be effortlessly chic while still forever comfortable, BARDO Collective came to be whilst daydreaming on a warm Roman summer’s day in 2020. Focused on impeccable quality, ethical and sustainable materials, local craftsmanship and the burning desire to travel with nothing but a few of your most coveted pieces, BARDO Collective encapsulates every woman’s favorite outfit and feeling.
About the designer
Tallulah Rufus Isaacs is the founder and designer of the newly launched ready-to-wear brand, BARDO Collective, a brand of luxury silk staples all made in their Los Angeles Atelier.
Tallulah was born in Los Angeles though moved to Rome, Italy, when she was eight years old. It was here where she spent most of her defining years growing up surrounded by the beauty of the Eternal City and influenced by its deep-rooted culture, history and art.
The mix of her Roman soul and Californian spirit led her on many adventures growing up, including her annual trips to Africa with her father (an eccentric English film producer who made 80’s classics such as 9 ½ Weeks) to their game reserve in Tanzania and neighboring island Lamu. Her parents encouraged her and her sister to travel with nothing but a carry-on suitcase and to experience the world in its rawest form
Her mother was a well known Norwegian/Canadian supermodel who would always be the best dressed woman in the room and some of Tallulah’s favorite pieces to date are the ones that were passed down from her. She emphasized the importance of well-made pieces that last a lifetime, being well groomed and the importance of owning a few treasured possessions instead of an abundance of material items.
Tallulah travelled back to Rome in early 2020 where she took some time off during the pandemic, hoping that she would be inspired on what to do next. It was here she started to workshop ideas on what she could design that would be aligned with the way she was feeling – confident, sexy, loving her 30’s, the desire to be effortless…. A brand that would make classics that women of any age could wear. She noted every time she was captivated by a woman and her style and started creating signature pieces that are now part of the newly launched brand, BARDO Collective.
BARDO Collective is a homage to simple elegance, timelessness and ease. BARDO has the ability to have pieces take you from lounging at home to a fabulous dinner and always be the best dressed yet laid back woman in the room.
