October 12th is Columbus Day which is why I’m sharing these Columbus Day cocktail recipes for the long weekend. You can thank me later!

But, how else are you going to celebrate properly without dedicating a couple (or several) drinks to the occasion, and there are few recipes here to choose from!

In case you don’t know the history behind the Columbus Day holiday, it all began in 1492, when Columbus discovered (or technically rediscovered) America. Previously celebrated on October 12 each year, the holiday was moved to the second Monday of October when the Uniform Holiday Act was enacted in 1968. And as this year October 12th is also the second Monday of October, that’s double the reason to celebrate!

So, this weekend, let’s try something new in honor of Columbus, and here are some Columbus Day cocktail recipes to celebrate with in honor of the great Italian explorer!

Vodka Based Columbus Day Cocktail Recipes

These recipes are all made with Double Cross vodka, a premium vodka out of Slovakia. Crafted with estate-grown winter wheat and Tatra Mountain spring water, this vodka is one of the smoothest spirits around. Each batch is distilled and filtered seven times using a unique process which utilizes both activated charcoal and diamond dust. And if you want a special souvenir or a gift idea, you can get a custom engraved bottle of Double Cross Vodka here.
